Client Case Study Amber Petty - When I Grow Up

Client Case Study Amber Petty - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Ive coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakin rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now and youll hear their stories firsthand in my  Client Case Studies series!  Im so excited to put up the first Client Case Study from my last round of Discover Your Dream Business, which only wrapped up 5 weeks ago (and opens for registration again tomorrow night for those who register for  my webinar)! Amber is a self-described weird mix of creative and practical and her  business idea  is *so* unique. Read on for a kind reality check and a huge dose of inspiration! Why did you decide to work with me, a creative business coach?   I had a referral from a person I really admire, so I was already halfway sold when I got to your website. Then, hearing that you were a fellow musical theater person piqued my interest and your Discover Your Dream Business seemed to pop up at the perfect time. What were you doing work-wise when we started working together and what are you doing now? When we started I was a full-time copywriter who picked up every random freelance article writing job I could get, in the hopes I’d find a niche that felt interesting and appropriately profitable. Now, I’m still at the copywriting job, but I’m able to use my additional time for my business. By the way, that business absolutely would NOT have happened without you. What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? I’m a weird mix of creative and practical. So, when it came to business I initially thought “enough of all this emotional and big dream stuff how do I make money?” But taking the time to really reflect on my ideal life, my skills, and how to combine them lead me to a business idea I never would have thought of on my own. Think of someone who is currently in the shoes you wore when we first started working together. What advice do you have for her?   If she was really like me, this hypothetical lady would be trying to think her way to a perfect, obstacle-free idea. Guess what, lady that was like me a few months ago? That’s not possible. So, instead of continuing to think and worry and wonder, make like Nike and just do it. Seriously, this fictional lady should work with you and get some much-needed clarity and excitement about her future possibilities. Is there anything thats been a game-changer for you when it comes to your business that you can share? Wed love a good resource or a mindset/productivity tip! Lately, I’ve been trying to just get stuff done rather than make things perfect. I could spend hours finding the “perfect” font for my website. Or I could find a font that looks nice and move on. Also, I like the Todoist app for making simple to do lists to help you keep track of all the little stuff. Whats on the horizon for your business? Wed love to hear about any upcoming offerings or goals! I’m launching my website! My business is brand new, so it’s a great time to get onboard  Sing A Different Tune. I offer online voice lessons for people who aren’t necessarily singers. Think of it as singing for self-care. Clients will learn breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, and find out how to bring out their inner diva (even when they’re not singing). Also, feel free to like the  Sing A Different Tune Facebook page  for future Facebook Live Karaoke Parties! Where can we find you and your work?
